make event details optional, allow fast copy of any list
It is a bit irritating to have to fill the event details everytime I want to use the list. I leave often for day trips and I just need an access to a fresh list with selected activities.
I do not want to waste time filling the dates or location, everytime all over again. I do would love to get rid of the weather forecast too, just takes too much space. Why not make it optional, even on by default, but let users manage and use the lists, without the whole context? Simple change.8 votes -
Sharable packing lists, like the bring app does for shopping lists
I travel with my wife for business, and we have private lists and shared lists. For instance, our baby packing list: anyone can pack that. Check out the bring app, it is shared grocery lists, and works great for us. The same idea would work great for our business, as we have some things anyone can pack (video camera, tripod) and it would be very helpful to be able to share a packing list

Needs more variety. I am taking a Hawaiian Cruise and there is no option for that so this app does not help me at all
Needs more locations and options like cruising - doesn't have that option and did not help me at all - deleting app.

Add "find" functionality
Add a "find" feature so that I can easily search whether or not a particular item is on my packing list. Currently, for example, I have to swipe through my entire list to ensure that a particular items (sunglasses, perhaps) is even on the list.

Import trips from Worldmate or Worldmatee Gold
Gave up on Thu put a while back and love Worldmate. I wouldn't change trip planning apps for anything, but would love it if my Packpoint Premium could import from WorldMate.
3 votesHi Dan, thanks for the great idea! Totally agree about having Worldmate support in PackPoint. We tried to do that a while back, but Worldmate charges developers quite a bit of money to access their developer platform, so we had to abandon the idea. Luckily TripIt allows us to integrate with their service for free. :)

Please reconsider Customized Item Properties
I see you've already declined this, but I'd really like to urge reconsideration. Seems to me the biggest advantage of an app over just a set of static, paper lists is the ability to use logic based on weather and destination data to modify the list. Suppose, for example, users could set a condition for "Bathing Suit" to appear on packing lists only when the forecast calls for temperatures over - say - 70 degrees? Since you say you ARE considering another excellent suggestion to invert the data structure - starting with items rather than activities and allowing those items…

This would be awesome to do, but unfortunately impossible to execute. PackPoint would need to know your luggage dimensions and the dimensions of every item in the packing list.

Edit the trip start date and location and add the year. Add the ability to change the trip start date and location. Plans change all the time. Add the ability to add the year. Annual trips to the same location happen on the same date all the time. Anyone for a Christmas trip to your parents on December 24 or a July 4th trip to a favorite water park every year. After all, I plan on using this app for more than one year.

Put electronics into a separate category
Put electronics into a separate category, for laptop, laptop charger, CDs, DVDs, Ipad & charger, phone & extra battery & charger, camera & tripod & photo discs & extra battery, etc. Easier to get all the necessary pieces into the luggage.

PackPoint allows you to share your list, which then creates a unique URL just for your list. However, this URL does not get updated as you make changes to your list. You would need to share it again, which will generate a new URL. We do not have any plans to sync to the web as of now.

Hi Nenshad, thanks for submitting this! Unfortunately the Google service that PackPoint uses for city names doesn’t seem to include cities in Seychelles. We tried a few and no success. Sorry about that.

French translation would be nice to have, but we don’t have any translators to do the work, so unfortunately this will not get done.

Customized Item Propeties
Some of the default items seem to have custom properties: the number of shirts changes based on number of nights staying somewhere; the type of jacket may change based on the destination's temperature; and so on.
This information is currently only on pre-generated items but not available to new items. It would be very helpful if the user could change these properties. It can be something simple like "add X number of this item based on number of nights stayed" or even "only add this item when it's raining" or "...when temperatures are below 50 degree F."

Develop Apple watch app for packpoint
Thinking that apple watch app could help to check off items from list on watch
1 voteThanks for the idea, Ian! We have thought quite a bit about a watch app companion for PackPoint, however we have not found a useful way to use a list on such a small screen. If a list were very short, it might be useful, but most packing lists are not that short.
