separate your checklist into four separate categories: On You, In Your Bag, In your Luggage, and Toiletries.
This is the basic way most people compartmentalize when traveling, and it makes the entire process easier to manage when seen as smaller units.

Pack for others
Can there be a category (similar to "baby") for packing for another person of any age? For example, packing for an elderly person, with an option to select that person's gender as different from the account owner's, (including gender-related or age-related items that might be other than what the packer needs for themself). E.g., I am companion travelling for an older relative and want to add "parasol" if the weather is sunny, "cane or walking sticks", "companions medications" (a separate item from my own meds) etc.
Also it'd be great to have a first aid kit category with editable items…12 votes -
Customized Item Propeties
Some of the default items seem to have custom properties: the number of shirts changes based on number of nights staying somewhere; the type of jacket may change based on the destination's temperature; and so on.
This information is currently only on pre-generated items but not available to new items. It would be very helpful if the user could change these properties. It can be something simple like "add X number of this item based on number of nights stayed" or even "only add this item when it's raining" or "...when temperatures are below 50 degree F."

Please reconsider Customized Item Properties
I see you've already declined this, but I'd really like to urge reconsideration. Seems to me the biggest advantage of an app over just a set of static, paper lists is the ability to use logic based on weather and destination data to modify the list. Suppose, for example, users could set a condition for "Bathing Suit" to appear on packing lists only when the forecast calls for temperatures over - say - 70 degrees? Since you say you ARE considering another excellent suggestion to invert the data structure - starting with items rather than activities and allowing those items…

Categorize items by "checkin" or "hand luggage"
I tend to pack a bag at a time, so this would help me
11 votesThanks for the idea, Nina! We don’t plan on making recommendations as to which bag to place each packing list item in, so I’ll mark this as declined.

Sync with calendar
Currently it gets itinerary from tripit only. It would be great to have other apps like tripcase or at least my Google calendar on the list.

add an option to choose the language
Since the German translation is rather bad, I would like to be able to choose the language on my own.
10 votesHi Dominik, thanks for submitting this idea. Sorry we messed up on the German translation, we tried to use high quality translation providers but it seems there are a few mistakes in German and Italian. We derive a lot of value out of using the phone’s language to automatically choose PackPoint’s language, so no plans to change that part of our system for now.

Allow to choose how many times you will do a certain activity
It would be nice to choose how many times you will do a certain activity. For example, I'm going going to Disney park for 2 days, when I choose an activity it seems like it will assume I will only be there for one.

Community Liste
Is it possible, that my friends can add something or edite my list if I send it to them? Would be a great help for a group trip.

make event details optional, allow fast copy of any list
It is a bit irritating to have to fill the event details everytime I want to use the list. I leave often for day trips and I just need an access to a fresh list with selected activities.
I do not want to waste time filling the dates or location, everytime all over again. I do would love to get rid of the weather forecast too, just takes too much space. Why not make it optional, even on by default, but let users manage and use the lists, without the whole context? Simple change.8 votes -
Add "find" functionality
Add a "find" feature so that I can easily search whether or not a particular item is on my packing list. Currently, for example, I have to swipe through my entire list to ensure that a particular items (sunglasses, perhaps) is even on the list.

add French traduction
crowdsource the translation if needed (you could do even more languages that way)
7 votesHi Marty, thanks for submitting this idea! Sorry for the bad news, but we have no plans to add any new translations to PackPoint. We’ve received quite a few 1 star reviews from people upset about the lack of French, but we can’t justify supporting any more translations for the foreseeable future.

weight
need a place to add weight of each item as well as the suitcase, so it totals and I know when I have hit 50lbs.
7 votesHi Karen, this would be awesome, but nearly impossible to do accurately. Sorry!

Day Trips
Totally new to your app, but it appears that at a minimum it caters for 1 night stay. What about day trips when you need a packing list I.e. picnics, bbq's, sporting events, taking out babies, young kids eye etc.
Yes they can be catered for in Customisation, but surely they are so important they warrant their own section and specific icons ?
7 votesGreat idea, Richard. No plans to modify the product to support this, but I definitely know where you’re coming from. I’ve had the same thought myself, and have just made a 1 night trip as a workaround. Not the best method, but it has worked well enough.

Change date!
IOS: Ability to change the date on a saved trip.
6 votesHi Bo, thanks for the idea! No plans to do this at the moment. Best way to accomplish a date change is a bit of workaround, which is to delete the trip and then create a new one.
