Add "where to find" and "where to pack" fields for each item.
Add "where to find" and "where to pack" fields for each item, with the ability to sort by "where to find" to make gathering items easier and more efficient.
1 voteHi Scott, you have a lot of awesome ideas, thank you so much for investing the time and energy to share them with us! :) No plans for this one, along the lines of the simplistic nature of PackPoint that I mentioned in my comments to your other idea. Thank you though!

Add notes/comments field
Provide a way to add notes or comments for each item. The short, 1-line item name is sometimes not enough.
1 voteHi Scott, this would be an interesting feature, but we don’t have any plans for it at the moment. PackPoint is very simplistic by design, and while it can be limiting at times, it is a big part of what we do.

Invert data structures.
Rather than each activity being a container, have a master list of items and allow each item to have a list of activity tags. This would eliminate duplication. For example, Sunglasses could have tags for Beach, Hiking, etc. Your current design requires me to add Sunglasses (and many other things) to many activities.25 votes -

Great idea, but unfortunately we don’t have any plans to do this at the moment.

weight
need a place to add weight of each item as well as the suitcase, so it totals and I know when I have hit 50lbs.
7 votesHi Karen, this would be awesome, but nearly impossible to do accurately. Sorry!

Have more pre-filled out lists. I'm a useless packer and need more help listing stuff to pack. I upgraded hoping but no.
Data logs of ideas of things people pack because half my problem is thinking of EVERYTHING I need to pack.

Categorize items by "checkin" or "hand luggage"
I tend to pack a bag at a time, so this would help me
11 votesThanks for the idea, Nina! We don’t plan on making recommendations as to which bag to place each packing list item in, so I’ll mark this as declined.

add option to pack multiple people kids and/or adults
When packing my famil, I'd like to track each individual's progress, namely the kids, but also the spouse.
17 votesGreat idea, but to be honest it isn’t in our plans. Will definitely keep you updated if that changes.

Change date!
IOS: Ability to change the date on a saved trip.
6 votesHi Bo, thanks for the idea! No plans to do this at the moment. Best way to accomplish a date change is a bit of workaround, which is to delete the trip and then create a new one.

Allow color scheme customization
The light pastel colors and light grey fonts are sometimes difficult to see. I'd like to be able to choose my background and foreground colors and the color and size of the fonts. This would make it easy to see on all device sizes and lighting conditions.
2 votesHi RoadMan, great idea, but unfortunately we don’t have any plans to do this at the moment.

Can you please make your app accessible for people who are using VoiceOver in iOS. All people should have access to your app.
PackPoint should work with VoiceOver in iOS
3 votesHi Roger, this would be awesome to support. Unfortunately, PackPoint doesn’t have the budget for this, and probably won’t for a while, if ever. If that ever changes, then accessibility will be on our roadmap!

support more than one traveler
I want to make a list with my entire family's stuff. Some are male. Some are female. Some are kids. I wish I could add travelers to my trip so that everything shows up on one list since I pack for everyone at once. I love the idea of your app, but I don't know how to make your app work with my family situation.
22 votesGreat idea Steve, but to be honest it isn’t in our plans. Will definitely keep you updated if that changes.

Day Trips
Totally new to your app, but it appears that at a minimum it caters for 1 night stay. What about day trips when you need a packing list I.e. picnics, bbq's, sporting events, taking out babies, young kids eye etc.
Yes they can be catered for in Customisation, but surely they are so important they warrant their own section and specific icons ?
7 votesGreat idea, Richard. No plans to modify the product to support this, but I definitely know where you’re coming from. I’ve had the same thought myself, and have just made a 1 night trip as a workaround. Not the best method, but it has worked well enough.

iPad Viewing - Potrait vs Landscape
Thank you for a great app. However one very frustrating aspect is that most people use their iPads in Landscape view, with most cases designed to stand up only in Landscape. Manually switching the view for the odd Portrait app is frustrating and not nearly as economical with viewing footprint, which can be put to better use.
Could you please consider also providing the ability to fully view your app in Landscape
2 votesHi Richard, we’ve decided to not to build an iPad version after all. Thanks for the idea!

EDC
As per your interest in the idea I have it would be really nice to have an app that gives you several standard set ups for different activities trough the day. Basically the same you have with Pack Point but in terms of every day carry (EDC). An app that generates a short list of things you might need - phone, charger, headphones, diary, pen, pencil, draw book, keys, car keys, pocket knife. You are going out to work and you have a meeting today - did you remember those reports you were working on this past one week, let's…
1 voteHi Lyuboslav, thank you for the detailed and thorough idea! Unfortunately we don’t have any plans to do this, as it is too much of a departure from the core feature of PackPoint.

Sorry to say, our work on an iPad version of PackPoint has been canceled. We will continue focusing all efforts on phones.

Hi Chris, thanks for submitting this idea! Unfortunately the global market share of Windows Phone doesn’t justify the huge investment required to get PackPoint running on it. The iTunes App Store and Google Play store are the only two with sufficiently large distribution capabilities at the moment.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and WIndows Phone will support running Android apps some day. :)

Hi Lynn, thanks for the idea! We will have the ability for you to create any activity that you want soon, so hopefully that will suffice.

add import/export functions or external edit functionality
I would like to edit items and groups in a more convenient way than with a small mobile device. Importing and Exporting the packlists as text files (or whatever) would allow editing lists with a pc. As an alternative, and even better ;), editing lists in a website in the internet would be very handy.
3 votesGreat idea, but it is too far beyond our current scope of how PackPoint is meant to work. WIll keep it in mind for the long-term, but it is unlikely that we’ll ever support this, sorry.

PackPoint on Windows Phone
Do you have plans to release this app on Windows Phone?
1 voteUnfortunately we won’t be bringing PackPoint to Windows Phone. The ROI just isn’t there. If that ever changes, we will consider at that time.
